During your stay on Porquerolles, take the time to visit Port-Cros. It is the smallest of the three Iles d'Or islands, the most mountainous and the one with the best-preserved natural environment. A natural sanctuary, it is a constant source of delight to ramblers. Along the marked botanical trail, admire the dense scrublands, the pine forests and the oak groves, but also the many forts which bear witness to the history of the island. On the way, you will surely come across gulls, cormorants and northern gannets. If you are a fan of diving, don't forget your flippers and snorkel- a stunning underwater trail will guide you through posidonia, "gorgone rouge" coral, mother of pearl, groupers, and other multi-coloured wrasse.
